Broadcaster, writer and racing enthusiast Sam McAughtry goes behind the scenes to look at point-to-point racing in the four provinces of Ireland.  He follows the fortunes of training families; - George and Carol Ross in Leinster, P P Hogan and his daughter Susan in Munster, and Pauline and Colm Gavin in Connacht.  He examines the hard graft and dedication of these people and shares in their successes and many disappointments in this amateur sport.
