Original 19 1/2 inch x 27 1/2 inch Poster for the 1957 Mark Robson Romantic Drama PEYTON PLACE, based on the novel by Grace Metalious with a screenplay by John Michael Hayes and starring Lana Turner, Lee Philips, Lloyd Nolan, Arthur Kennedy, Russ Tamblyn, Terry Moore, Hope Lange, Diane Varsi, David Nelson, Barry Coe, Betty Field, Mildred Dunnock, Leon Ames, Lorne Greene, Robert H. Harris, Staats Cotsworth, Peg Hillias, Scotty Morrow, Erin O'Brien-Moore, John Doucette and Arthur Tovey.
In the outwardly respectable New England community of Peyton Place, shopkeeper Constance McKenzie (Turner) tries to make up for a past indiscretion – which resulted in her illegitimate daughter Allison (Varsi) – by adopting a chaste, prudish attitude towards all things sexual. In spite of herself, Constance can’t help but be attracted to handsome new teacher Michael Rossi (Philips). Meanwhile, the restless Allison, who’d like to be as footloose and fancy-free as the town’s “fast girl” Betty Anderson (Moore), falls sincerely in love with mixed-up mama’s boy Norman Page (Tamblyn).
The poster is in good to very good folded condition with slight creasing, corner pinholes and a few smudges.
