Ocean Jasper Cabochon Rectangle: Peach-Pink Flowers on Green Background; 74+ cts

To me, this looks like a field of peach-pink poppies against the dark green of a forest opening. Beautifully scenic. Ocean jasper is supposedly near to being exhaused, though it is still coming onto the market. Regardless, it is highly prized by gem collectors for its patterns. This piece has a very low dome, and I can see it being used in a buckle or as a plaque focal piece in a big necklace design. Unlike much of this more crystally material, this piece is untreated with fillers and thus there are some tiny natural pits here and there (I personally find untreated pieces preferable). The back is unpolished, which gives better grip if epoxy is used when placing in a closed-back setting. A great piece for your jewelry design or collection.
