| DESCRIPTION | Magnificent pair of highest quality modern Georgian style English solid sterling silver candelabra with eight removable sconces, loaded bases and a pair of flame form candle douter finials. Impressive yet not overwhelming like the Georgian originals could be and will comfortably fit into a modern dining environment. You have the option of six lights, four lights or a simple pair of candlesticks. The flutes are designed to reflect the flickering candlelight for a stunning effect. I have shown them with gold coloured 10" candles but you have the choice of six gold or six bright red candles included free of charge. |
| SILVERSMITH | James Dixon & Sons Ltd. I recently had the privilege of meeting an old silversmith who could remember these sticks from when you could still buy the stampings new from Evans, a firm known for the very highest quality production and who, in these examples, used grade six thickness silver, the greatest thickness of silver possible for this type of production. Probably because they stuck with their traditional very high quality and would not cheapen their product with thinner silver they lost out to the competition and eventually ceased production. A great loss to us all and especially the old silversmith who loved Evans's stampings as the high quality and thick metal made them a joy to work with. |
