Yes, it’s THAT Mike Douglas.....later the popular TV talk/variety show host of the 1960s and 70s.  During his period as Harry Babbitt’s replacement with the Kyser band, Douglas was featured on two substantial hits: the #1 “Ole Buttermilk Sky” (also posted) and this runner-up version to the Sammy Kaye chart-topper “The Old Lamplighter,” which reached #3. Many will remember the 1960 revival of “The Old Lamplighter” by The Browns.
