Gloucester Road, opened for steam trains in 1868, has been sensitively renovated. Circle line trains, brought into service early in the 1970s, were completely refurbished between 1990 and 1993.' The postcard was issued to commemorate the 54th International Congress of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP: L’Union internationale des transports publics) , which was held in London from 20th to 25th May 2001.
