A boy goes to live with his uncle after his father is unjustly imprisoned. The uncle sells the boy’s pet donkey for drink instead of money to help the father. The boy finds his donkey, but it is injured and must be put to sleep. The boy finds evidence to clear his father, and the priest gives the boy another donkey.
