We visited Oahu a few years ago and the highlight of our trip was seeing Chief Sielu Avea in action. From cracking coconuts to making fire to fireknife dancing, the Chief is the very best. He was the first world's champion fireknife dancer. The Chief is the real thing. We attended a Fia-Fia Night Luau with the Chief as host and visited the Chief's ranch on the north side of the island during our visit. After We had to get a copy of this VHS to bring back home with us so we could remember and share the experience. The VHS was made a few years ago when the Chief was performing at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Since then, he's gone off on his own hosting luaus and conducting tours of his ranch. If you visit the island, be sure to take in a Fia Fia Night or visit the ranch for sure. If you can't get there, you'll enjoy watching the skills demonstrated on this video. The Chief is a very good entertainer and likes to involve the audience while working in some comedy routines. I'm sure you'll enjoy the performance!
