Early Victorian Governess/Lady/Jane Eyre

 In Victorian times, every well-to-do household employed a governess to teach their children.

  This delightful early Victorian style lady is cast by me, from fine quality bisque porcelain and has light brown hair.

 Dressed in a dark grey minute cotton check fabric, this lady epitomises plain respectability. The style of this gown is typical of the early 1840s with a tightly fitting bodice, simply decorated, with just a little narrow braid. At the top of the high neckline is a tiny frill of white lace and wide three quarter length sleeves sit over a plain white blouse. Around her shoulders this lady wears a fringed tartan shawl and her hair is dressed neatly in a bun.

 Underneath, this lovely lady wears lace-trimmed white cotton drawers and matching petticoat, along with stockings and real leather, side-buttoned ankle boots.

 This doll is approx five and a half inches tall.

This doll has a porcelain head, torso, lower arms, and lower legs with a wired, soft and partially pose-able body. This doll is an ornament intended for adult collectors and should not be given to children to play with.
