Original U.S. 14 inch x 36 inch Insert Poster for the 1966 Raoul Levy Drama THE DEFECTOR, based on the novel by Paul Thomas and starring Montgomery Clift, Hardy Kruger, Macha Meril, Christine Delaroche, David Opatoshu, Hannes Messemer and Roddy McDowall.
An American scientist is sent by the CIA to East Germany to retrieve a secret microfilm from a Soviet scientist interested in defecting to the West but the Stasi secret police's surveillance complicates matters. .
Poster art by Frank McCarthy (1924 - 2002). McCarthy was an American artist and realist painter known for advertisements, magazine artwork, paperback covers, film posters, and paintings of the American West.
The poster is in very good unfolded (rolled) condition.
