German silver

German Silver is a unique alloy of copper, brass, and nickel. German Silver causes a positive reaction in the horses mouth, creating saliva and a more pleasant taste for the horse.

This alloy is most commonly seen in the Sprenger bits

Bit use 

This is an ideal snaffle for dressage, schooling or any other activity

Bit Action

This bit is designed so that when a contact is taken up via the reins, the rounded lozenge link rests fully on the tongue without squeezing it.

The bit will give no palate pressure (unlike a normal snaffle), this helps to solve problems such as lifting the head when half halting or transitioning down.

 

The lozenge allows the sensitive tongue to be utilized rather than abused, enabling clear instructions to be given through the reins
