There were 3 editions of the Code (at the end of the nineteenth century): in 1838, 59, and 69. The beginning of the codification of the legislation on the military unit dates back to the first years of the reign of Emperor Nicholas I. At the command of this sovereign, all the unrepealed military regulations, beginning with the Military Charter of Emperor Peter the Great of 1716 to May 1, 1838, were dismantled and brought into the system.
