Portrait by Raymond J. Hearne. His stamp is on the reverse.
Text on the reverse: JOYCE GRENFELL as the policewoman, Ruby Gates, who disguises herself as a games mistress (Miss Crawley) to report on irregularities at St. Trinians - and gets more than she bargained for!
”THE BELLES OF ST. TRINIANS” is a Launder-Gilliat production for London Films, directed by Frank Launder. Screenplay by Frank Launder, Leslie Gilliat and Val Valentine, inspired by ‘the awful schoolgirls’ of Ronald Searle. Starring Alastair Sim (in the dual roles of Headmistress Fritton and her bookmaker brother, Clarence), with Joyce Grenfell, George Cole, Hermione Baddeley and Betty Ann Davies and Beryl Reid.
The portrait is in very good condition with a nick in the bottom right corner and minor surface marks.
