An altitude alerter is a device which warns the pilot when he/she is approaching a pre-set altitude or deviating from that altitude.

Aero Mechanism's AM-135 Digital Altitude Alert System represents a new dimension in in-flight and landing altitude precision. It's like a co-pilot in your cockpit, when you can't afford to have your ups and downs. All solid state electronics in a compact instrument ... it mates with anyone's encoding altimeter or remote encoder . . . visually and audibly warns you if you stray from a pre-set altitude . . . (range is pilot adjustable from -to feet)

AM135 Digital Altitude Alert System. The pilot can select the altitude he wants to maintain and adjust for baro corrections, and the range from 50 ft. to 1750 ft that he can deviate before his aural and visual alert activates.
