"I, Karl Hugo Weber, Railway Secretary, of Krailsheim in the German Empire, do hereby declare the nature of this invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, to be particularly described and ascertained in and by the following statement: The hygienic properties of silk have long been recognised, but in consequence of its expense it has not been possible to use it to the desired extent and for this reason silk has only been employed for hygienic garments in isolated cases..."
