Some Information About wdgw43
WDW Sporting Memorabilia was born out of a passion for autograph collecting going back some fifty years.
I can remember the very first autograph I collected, it was of Stanley Matthews in 1953. He visited our local Co-op store to promote his football boots and brought along the FA Cup which his team, Blackpool won that year, in a final, to this day known as the Matthews final. Since that day I have had the privilege of meeting many Sporting, Film and Television personalities and have built up a much treasured personal collection. The business was originally set up to provide bespoke montages for Sporting occasions and over the years I have become known to many collectors and dealers, not only in this country but also in Europe and America. In November 2010 I had the opportunity to open a retail premises in Southend-on-Sea Essex. The shop is now established enabling the business to take the next stage with this website. We value the relationship with each of our customers, and are keen to encourage anyone with an interest in signed memorabilia. We also have a lot of experience in how to turn that old event programme or ticket into an attractive display rather than being buried away in a drawer, so please feel free to contact us with any questions. We are AFTEL approved dearlers AD #141
WHAT IS AFTAL; | ||
The “Autograph Fair Trade Association” ( AFTAL ) was formed by a group of acknowledged autograph dealers, with the intention of stamping out the market in fake items and ensuring that the customer is able to find dealers that they can trust. Inclusion in AFTAL is proof of each dealer’s commitment and professional competence. The Code of Conduct commits each AFTAL approved dealer to providing authentic items, with all the required knowledge, qualification and diligence that that may demand, and is the best possible proof any collector could have when looking to buy authentic signed memorabilia. Simply put, there is no reason as to why any honest dealer should not become an AFTAL approved dealer, but many reasons why some could never become an AFTAL approved dealer. |
