Some Information About stitchbewitch
Hi there!
I'm an ex expat who returned to the UK almost a year ago ( a year already, can't believe it! ) After yeeaaaaars of working for other people, decided to give self-employment a go. There is also the fact that where I live - in the Western Isles - there ain't a lot of jobs going.
I'm selling quality knitting, crochet yarns etc as they are favourite hobbies of mine and there is no yarn shop here - in fact there are very few shops at all and no big supermarkets. It takes a while to build a business reputation and customer base here - the best way is by word of mouth. Would probably help if I had a shop, but there's nothing to rent or buy here, so I work from home.
I get a real kick out of helping people discover new yarns and accessories and there's something very satisfying about parcelling up some gorgeous, soft yarn knowing that someone somewhere is eagerly waiting to tear open the package!
I fell in love with sock yarns about a year ago after stumbling across them on a forum I found while researching for my 'shop'. That's my Beagle modelling one of a pair I made in a 'Tiger' yarn. He thinks they go very well with his coat :-)
If you haven't tried sock knitting, give it a go. It looks much harder than it really is and socks knit up really quickly. Many people who start get hooked.
