I'm a military veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps infantry honorably for 4 years and I have a service-connected injury/disability which makes me a disabled veteran. I've overcome a bad hand dealt to me - i.e. the VA claims side denying claims by saying my fused shoulder in no way negatively impacts my employment while the education side denying me education benefits on the basis I'm "too disabled" to go to school, neither of which is true. In other words, different parts of the VA have used mutually exclusive arguments, each meant to deny me of some benefit. I had to use my own scarce funds to earn insurance, real estate, and mortgage loan originator licenses, which I did, and only recently did I find land a truly decent job in the insurance industry (up until then, I was only offered low paying, high turnover jobs). My story is one of perserverence.
