I was made redundant May08, had started my pension 6weeks before at age 52, it had been plundered so thought I'd have it, the firm stopped paying in, "pension holiday" and there was no benefit not having it, my first wife had died Sat 15 Nov 03, so there was only myself. I retired myself, had met a widowed lady 05 so sold my terrace house moved in, married her July 08, made mirror wills, all sorted, now live nice steady life, no shifts etc, never be a millionaire but theres more to life than money, grow the more expensive type veg, rhubarb, artichoke(jerusalem), runner bean,rocket,lettuce, shallot, spring onion, welsh onion,winter onion,leeks,herbs, early& late carrot, parsnip etc we do ok, I am for my sins an amateur social historian, real people real lives, not just Kings&Queens, toffs etc, am only ordinary working class bloke but have my own mind and can be considered eccentic by todays standards, no car, basic mobile, landline, basic laptop, modern life aint all what its cracked up to be, recently invested in brick built chimney for small Morso woodburner, kettle on top for tea and pan next to for hot water, tins beans, heating cake mixture etc, hot water bottles for bed, save exorbitant gas/electricity bills, my weakness is my hobby/interest, a terminal "disease" I dont want curing of
I try to treat others as  would like to be treated, dont cheat, lie etc, tell white lies and aint perfect, not everybody's cup o tea ( mines LEAF, in a POT milk, no sugar, STRONG!!), my idea of eating out is good quality fish and chips at Weymouth and Beer in Devon, where Nick keeps a mean Icelandic cod in its box ready for the eating of by request!!, drink good real ale occasionally, like at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, Golden Chalice from Glastonbury this year was fantastic(2011), my "local" is the SHIP (BADGER ALES!!)on the Melcombe side of the harbour at Weymouth, which I discovered recovering from Glandular fever age 49,it has become the CENTRE OF MY UNIVERSE,study its history and buy items, not just postcards, OWT I want/require/need and can AFFORD-- hate where I live apart from this little bungalow, one day would like to get there!!
ONLY BUY, never sell, am not interested in buying for profit, its if I need it ,like books, press for making logs from newspaper, CDs DVDs and of course illustrative items for my "disease", I payup on time ,dont default, I do, however metaphorically "kick arse" if I get messed with, been on ebay since Oct09 and have 100%, there has been disquiet, even tho' I have been happy mostly, several sellers have recommended this site and delcampe, all are different and this one takes getting used to but somehow here I am, have sort of regular sellers, have built rapport but can only spend what  have so nobody will get rich from me! I ask for and TOTALLY 100% APPRECIATE postal discount, I'd sooner have the items than fatten Post Office profits THANK YOU for reading this,SORRY to have bored you!!!!
