Hello - thank you for looking at the Widenose Collectables shop and here is a little about us & what we sell on Ebid.

We are a registered business based in the Haute Pyrenees in the South-West of France.  We have been selling via the internet since 2004 - and now (2008) we have just joined the growing community here on ebid.

Widenose Collectables consists of me - Jacki, and my father - Ben.  We sell quality antiques & collectable items.  My Dad has been an avid antique collector for most of his life (& that's a lot of years!!!)   We mainly offer ceramic items but occasionally we come across items of metal ware, wood, pictures, bakelite, glass etc.....  For me, this started out as a part time hobby but has now become a full time job!!  My dad never ceases to amaze me with some ot the more quirky objects he finds, & I tend to enjoy sourcing out animal figurines (some of my favourites are SylvaC, USSR & Beswick), amongst other things.

We try very hard to provide an excellent customer service that we would like to receive ourselves.   Any questions will be answered in a maximum of 24 hours & usually much sooner.  We encourage communication before, during and after any transaction & keep you well informed every step of the way.   In the unlikely event that you are not happy with your purchase then please make contact as soon as possible & we will do our utmost to rectify any query!

TERMS & CONDITIONS (boring bit but necessary.....please read)

Packaging

Item will be extremely well packaged for posting.  Your parcel will be packaged using copious amounts of bubblewrap & polystyrene and packaged in a sturdy box.  We are very experienced in packing fragile items securely to prevent damage in transit.  Shipping charges are at cost - we make no charge for packaging materials.

Items damaged in transit

On the rare occasion that an item should become damaged during transit then the packaging & item will need to be provided - so please do not dispose of the packaging.

Insurance for loss & damage in transit is included for all items.

All items are sent tracked & with proof of delivery.   Please refer to the individual listing for details on that item.   Our shipping costs are kept as low as possbile - we do not make profit from shipping charges. 

A postage discount may be applied for multiple purchases.  In order for this to apply then items must be paid for on one single invoice.  Please email for details

Items will be sent out within 2 working (business) days of cleared payment.  Any payments made by cheque will be posted out once the cheque has cleared – please allow 10 working days for this (if paying by UK cheque as we are in France it takes a few days for cheques to get back into the UK banking system).  We always email to inform you when payment is received and when the item will be posted out.

On the rare occasion that an item is lost in transit then compensation needs to be claimed from the carrier.  Please allow 20 working (business) days for your item to arrive.  If an item does not arrive within this timescale we will provide a full refund - you will need to ask us for a lost in post form & return this to us, then we will process your full refund.  All items are sent by a tracked method with proof of delivery.

If any item is returned to us as 'not collected' then there will be an additional postage charge to re-send the item.

Paypal payments

Paypal is accepted from all buyers. 

Bank transfers

Any charges incurred in a bank transfer are the responsibilty of the buyer.  If a payment is received minus the charges then the outstanding amount will be requested & the purchase not posted until the rest of the payment is received.  Bank transfers can be made in any currency.

Cheques & postal orders

We can accept cheques & postal orders drawn on either a UK or French bank account.  If they are drawn on a French account then these must be in euros & if on a UK account then in pounds sterling (please use that days current exchange rate or contact us for the amount).

Returns policy

We try our best to advertise items as honestly as  we can and only sell items we would be happy to receive ourselves.  If an item is genuinely not as described we will refund item cost (including shipping costs) when it is returned. 

If you decide that you do not want your purchase then you must make contact within 7 days of receiving it & the item returned within 14 days of receipt.   The item MUST be returned in the same condition & in the same, original packaging.  We strongly advise that you send back by a tracked & insured method as we can take no resposiblity for damage in transit in this situation.   Shipping costs & any fees incurred will NOT be refunded. 

Sorry for the long winded terms & conditions - Our aim is to be as upfront as possible to give you confidence in placing bids on our items.
