Who is RJM Coins

RJM Coins is a small family owned coin dealership located in Santa Rosa, California. In the heart of the real California wine country. It is operated primarily by Ronald J Martin, hence the name RJM Coins. Occasionally my wife or one of my children will help sort or assemble a lot, but usually I'm on my own.
My interest in coins began at the tender age of 4. Back then my view on coin collecting was very simple, any coin I considered old was removed from change. Understand that to a four-year-old anything over twenty years old is ancient. I spent many an evening rooting through piles of change removing what I considered valuable coins.
Time passed and I grew in experience and knowledge, but my method remained mostly the same; remove anything over twenty years old. Yes, I had Whitman folders and Red Books. I knew what had value and what didn't; but old habits die hard.
It was during my high school years that I made a great discovery, the US Mint. In 1968 San Francisco began minting coins again and I began buying from them. No longer did I need to search through bags and bankrolls to get the current years coins. I could simply buy directly from the mint at nearly face value for uncirculated mint sets. What a deal.
Eventually I graduated from college with degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. I got a job, married, eventually bought a house, and, after a time, had four children. In 2002 my teaching position dried up due to declining enrollment, lack of funding and a number of other reasons. I had been selling computers on eBay for a couple of years and briefly considered that as an alternative to looking for regular job. Unfortunately, the computers I had access to were generally older models of little value. Then the idea struck, I could sell coins. Thus in February of 2003 I officially became a coin dealer with a business license and all. Now I get to stay at home, play with my coins and make money doing it. Life is good!
I traded on eBay since 1999, most of that time as a Power Seller; however, as so many others have said, eBay is not what it once was.

Shipping Information

All shipping is done via United States Postal Services. My base shipping rate for a single item is about $2.00 which includes Delivery Confirmation. The cost for additional items is by weight.
Insurance is required for all sales over $25.00. The cost of insurance is $1.85 for sales up to $50. Additional insurance for sales over $50 as per US Postal Insurance rates. The exact cost may vary with destination and final value of the auction. Shipments whose total value exceeds $500.00 will be shipped Registered mail. It costs a bit more, but is the closest thing to guaranteed delivery.
If the actual shipping cost is substantially below my estimate I will gladly refund the difference. I try to make money on the auctions, not the shipping! Please remember padded envelopes, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, and whatever else is necessary to get your package to you safely and securely do have a cost.

Return Policy

I try to describe all coins as clearly and accurately as possible, even so, it is still just my opinion and you may not agree with it. Therefore, you have seven days from receipt to examine any coin purchased from me. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the coin you may return it for a full refund, less the initial listing fees. All coins must be returned in their original unopened containers. Any coin removed from its container is considered sold. Similarly, if the container has been opened or tampered with the coins are considered sold.
Upon receipt of the coin I will refund the bid price plus your return postage as indicated on the package when I receive it, less the initial listing fee. If everything proceeds amicably, I do not have a problem leaving positive feedback even though a sale is not completed.
EXCEPTION: I do not offer a return privilege on bulk lots. This will be noted in the auction listing description.

Office Phone: (707) 579-0788

My hours are usually 8AM - 4PM Pacific Time; sometimes earlier and sometimes later. It all depends on my mood. Also, I won't answer if I am busy playing with my coins or if I have received too many solicitations for mortgage refinancing. Solicitations for refinancing really, really irritate me. Anyway, if no one answers try (707) 569-7258, this is my home answering machine.
If all else fails you can always email me at Ron at RJMCoins.com or send a message through the eBid system. These are really your best options as I check my email several times a day.

Listing Errors

I do the best I can to present error free listing; however, errors sometimes occur in a listing. Therefore, I reserve the right to void a sale, or bid, during, or after, an auction for any obvious errors that a bidder or I might make. This is done not only to protect bidders and customers, but myself as well. I will try to be fair and understanding with your errors as well as those I may make.
