Original French 12 1/4 inch x 8 3/4 inch 8 Page Illustrated Pressbook for the 1927 Mauritz Stiller Drama THE WOMAN ON TRIAL (CONFESSION), based on the play by Ernest Vajda and starring Pola Negri, Einar Hanson, Arnold Kent, Andre Sarti and Dorothy Brock.

A woman facing trial for murder recalls the events which led up to the killing.

Cover art by David Olère (1902 - 1985). A Polish-born French painter and sculptor. Olère studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, and upon completion of his studies there at the age of 16, moved to Danzig and later Berlin, where he exhibited woodcuts at museums and art houses. In 1921 he was hired by Ernst Lubitsch at the Europäische Film Allianz to work as a set builder for the film Das Weib des Pharao. Olère also lived in Munich and Heidelberg before moving to Paris in 1923 and settling in Montparnasse, where he designed costumes and publicity posters for Paramount Pictures.

The pressbook is in good to very good condition with minor wear along the spine.
