Original World War 2 military industry trade magazine vintage ad for WINTHROP CHEMICAL COMPANY, INC. of New York City, NY. Defeat Comes to a Mosquito. In the tropics and subtropics, the Solomons and New Guinea, Africa, India and China, the anopheles mosquito has long waged a successful war against man with its malaria jabbing bayonet. Quinine has been used to fight off the disease, but this natural drug was lost to the Untied Nations early this year through Japanese conquest of the Dutch East Indies.
