Original 10 inch x 8 inch Portrait of AILEEN PRINGLE in the 1924 King Vidor Drama THE WIFE OF THE CENTAUR, based on the novel by Cyril Hume.
A gifted but neurotic novelist (John Gilbert), is attracted to a young and innocent girl Joan (Eleanor Boardman), but neglects her when he meets the voluptuous Inez Martin (Aileen Pringle). After a short, passionate affair, Inez discards him and he turns to drink and debauchery and no longer writes. He eventually marries the girl but once again is seduced by Inez, quickly realizing, however, that his infatuation with Inez is over, and returns to a forgiving Joan.
The portrait is in good condition with a full height vertical crease and some other surface creasing.
