Seller's Description
Vintage 800 Silver 6.5" Length Bracelet. 5/8" wide (16.5mm). Carved Natural Shell Cameos depicts mythical gods of the 7 Days of the Week. Depicted are as follows: 1) Diana - goddess of Hunting and Chastity 2) Mars - god of war 3) Mercury - god of trade, protector of thieves 4) Jupiter - go of other gods 5) Venus - goddess of love and beauty 6) Saturn - god of agriculture 7) Apollo - god of sun, art and medicine. Attributed to Giovanni Apa / ITALY. Circa late 1930s / early 1940s. Panels measure approx. 7/8" x 5/8". Each has a gold vermeil rope border accent. Book piece shown in the 6th edition of Old Jewelry from C. Jeanne Bell. All original condition. |
