Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1961 Roberto Rossellini Drama VANINA VANINI (THE BETRAYER) based on the novella by Stendhal starring Sandra Milo, Laurent Terzieff, Martine Carol, Paolo Stoppa, Isabelle Corey, Antonio Pierfederici, Olimpia Cavalli, Nerio Bernardi and Mimmo Poli.
Vanina Vanini, a bored, spoiled Roman countess, falls in love with a dedicated young patriot who is in Rome to assassinate a traitor to the brotherhood of the Free Masons
Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D'Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.
