Seller's Description

Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1955 Mario Camerini Adventure ULYSSES starring Kirk Douglas, Silvana Mangano, Anthony Quinn, Rossana Podesta, Sylvie, Daniel Ivernel and Jacques Dumesnil.

Ulysses was a legendary Greek king of Ithaca and the hero of Homer's epic poem the Odyssey.

Advert art by Dante Manno (1911 - 1996). Manno trained at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he was a pupil of Duilio Cambellotti. Like many other painters of the time dedicated to poster illustration, he became the interpreter of the Neorealist vein of the 1940s and 1950s films, creating dramatic and realistic compositions that exalted the female figure.
