TSOP1838 is an infrared receiver which receives infrared light modulated at 38kHz providing a demodulated logical output.

A typical remote data transmission (remote control) system consists of a serial stream of 0s and 1s transmitted
as bursts of infra red light modulated at 38KHz to indicate the presence of a 1, no light indicating a 0 (or vice versa, as you wish).

This device can be used to read signals from most Infrared remotes like the one used on your TV, AC etc.

The receiver has ambient light protection and is perfect to use as an obstacle avoidance sensor when compared to normal IR receivers LED's.

The receiver has three pins: +5V, Ground and Output.
