With Star Wars Illustrated A New Hope, Topps decided to release a set with new content for collectors. Based on the radio dramatization of Star Wars produced and broadcast by the National Public Radio (NPR) in 1981, the set utilizes new artwork to depict scenes from the radio drama.

Each base card has new original art commissioned by Topps from various artists Some scenes were not in the movie but were in the radio drama. The back of each card also had a brief but detailed summary of the event.

The events covered in Star Wars Illustrated A New Hope is considered non-canon and has the Legends imprint.

3 parallel foil levels of the base cards were available to collect: Purple (1  in 12 packs, no numbering), Bronze (1 per box, no number) and Gold (hobby only #/10).

4 insert sub-sets were available to chase as well.

Each box only had 1 hit and consistent with the all artwork set, the hits were mostly artwork related. Sketch cards were Panaromic sketch cards that were double the size and folded into a sleeve before being pack inserted. Sketchagraphs were sketch cards of characters along with on-card autographs by the actor/actress (8 signers). Film Cell relics had one film cell per card with 20 different card designs available. Printing plates of base cards and inserts were inserted as well. Lastly, very rare original art from the Etched Foil inserts were inserted.

Shipping and Packaging

• The Local Pickup option is available only to the Greater Toronto Area. Time and place will be determined by us.
• Shipping costs are calculated based on size and weight and the destination address.
• Multiple orders within a 48-hour period can be combined to save on shipping costs. Please contact us for a combined invoice before payment.
• Orders are shipped within 1-2 business days of receiving payment.
• All shipments will have delivery confirmation and insurance. A tracking number will be provided once the item ships.
• Item(s) will be packaged securely as possible to prevent damage.
• Premium hit cards (sketches, autographs, etc) will be packaged in a card sleeve and top-loader.
• Card sets will be packaged based on quantity in sleeves, team bags or cardboard boxes.
• We will only ship to verified Paypal addresses.

Shipping costs for single cards and sets are grouped usually by the number of cards and occasionally by weight (ie medallion cards, etc). Below are the typical number of trading cards for each group. Costs are usually an increase of $2-5 dollar per group.

• Group 1 – 1-3 trading cards (under 40 grams)
• Group 2 – 4-200 trading cards (under 500 grams)
• Group 3 – 200+ trading cards (over 500 grams)

Payment and Processing

• Paypal is the only accepted form of online payment. Cash is only available for the local pickup option (for GTA buyers only)
• Returns are accepted under certain conditions (ie not as described, etc). Please see our Return Policy.

Duties & Taxes

• Canadian residents, tax will be automatically added to the purchase based on your province or territory. At this time, Saskatchewan residents are responsible for declaring their own provincial taxes.
