Seller's Description

Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1945 Louis King Horse Drama THUNDERHEAD - SON OF FLICKA, based on the novel by Mary O'Hara and starring Roddy McDowall, Preston Foster, Rita Johnson, James Bell, Diana Hale, Carleton Young and Ralph Sandford.

A young boy tries to train Thunderhead, a beautiful white colt and the son of his beloved Flicka, to be a champion race horse.

The advert artwork is by A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.

The Advertisement is in very good condition with a horizontal centre fold and a couple of edge nicks.
