Dear WORKBASKET Reader:

October is pasta month, and we are celebrating by featuring, on page 82, a special pasta recipe for WORKBASKET readers from Mary Ann Esposito, who is pictured on our cover. Remember that a serving of pasta contains an average of 80 calories with few saturated fatty acids and cholesterol, plus B vitamins, iron, magnesium, folacin and fiber, all important for our nutrition.

This issue contains so many needlework and craft ideas that you’ll love making them for gifts or for yourself to enjoy. Don’t miss reviewing our new department entitled “Little Things,” featuring quick and easy projects that make ideal bazaar items, tiny gifts for shut-ins or a surprise remembrance to tuck in a letter or card for a special friend.
