Dear WORKBASKET Readers:
I know you are going to enjoy your stroll through the new WORKBASKET magazine. This issue and following ones are based on a specific theme with just the right projects to bring you exciting needlework and crafts as well as information on foods, gardening, health and beauty.
The second in our series of sweaters from England is featured on our cover. You should knit several — each different lust by changing colors of the floral design — or crochet our “take along” afghans that are worked one section at a time.
Because the outdoors beckons this time of the year, there are marinades for vegetables or meat kabobs that will make your next backyard barbecue a memorable occasion. Also included are two cool, refreshing soups to prepare early before the day’s heat begins. Our fruit jams are from an old, favorite recipe that’s been simplified, so they’re a snap to make. Savor their goodness in winter or give as gifts, decorated with our quick and easy cross stitch jar labels or lid covers.
I wish to extend my thanks to the Kansas City Museum of History and Science for allowing us to photograph most of our projects in several of their interesting rooms.
