Overall condition is acceptable. This is the Book Club Edition (BCE) of the first edition of the novel. This is validated by having the gutter code of F51 on page 151 which designates a first printing of the book and thereby making this the first edition. Both the retail and BCE edition were released at the same time with the only difference being "Book Club Edition" on the inside flap of the dust jacket. According to ISFDB, this puts the actual print date of December 1973 though the copyright date in the book is 1975. The dust jacket has seen better days, having moderate to heavy edge wear, tears, chipping mainly in the corners and bottom and top edges of the spine, and obvious scuff marks. Clear tape has been used on the inside of the dust jacket to prevent some of the existing tears from getting worse. The book itself shows little overall wear with the main wear being in the corners with the more moderate wear on the spine edges. Interior pages have some discoloration with age.
