From The Marvel Database:
Synopsis for " The Pride of Juctice!"
Outside the Tomb Prison, Spider-Man has just been blasted with a sonic gun operated by the Beetle. Deciding to take the kill shot, the Beetle's aim is spoiled by his getaway driver, Leila. The shot ends up striking the wall of the prison, blasting a hole in the cell occupied by the Shocker. Afraid that he might become a victim of either the Punisher or Scourge, Herman begins to panic. The Beetle demands to know why she interfered, and she reminds him of his promise to the Rhino not to kill Spider-Man. The Beetle points out that was because the Rhino didn't want to be culpable in murder and prepares to take another shot. Before he can pull the trigger the NYPD's Code: Blue arrives on the scene to try and apprehend the Beetle. That's when Leila floors it, revealing that her van can spray tear gas from the exhaust system. As they get away, the Beetle apologizes for jeopardizing their safety and expresses his doubts leading the Sinister Syndicate. Leila is understanding and is convinced that her boyfriend Boomerang is too well guarded to break out of prison. What the Beetle doesn't know is that Leila is only trying to get his confidence, as she is plotting to destroy him.
