  • Comments: The BAA (British Astronomical Association) has been in existence since 1890 and is an organization in the UK that coordinates and analyses amateur astronomy observations. It is headquartered in Burlington House, on the top floor of the Royal Astronomical association building, near the Royal Academy. The circulars used to be issued for an annual additional subscription to the main subscription – before they went fully electronic. The circulars were nearly always printed on white paper, and normally gave news on astronomical discoveries – but this one is slightly unusual. This circular concerns the BAA Computing Section and the use of astronomy dial up bulletin board service and is printed on light blue paper. Instructions on how to use this dial up service are given, with particular advice to BBC Micro users. The Starbase One service was run by Nick Stevens and Don Miles. Suitable for anyone interested in BAA history or its Computing Section.
