From the popular video game, Super Mario Bros. The Super Mario Bros. Super Show features Mario, his brother Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and her advisor going by the name of Toad. They go from land to land try to save that land from the sinister Bowser Koopa and his band of goombas, troopas, and other villians from the video game. The show also features live action parts with the voices of Mario and Luigi, Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells. Each episode also features a special guest on every show.

Great set of 1990's Super Mario cartoon. A bunch of animated episodes are included, however the live-action intros by Captain Lou Albano as Mario and Danny Wells as Luigi are not included in this set. You still have to hear them as voice actor over the cartoon do, and have the end credit live-action "dance" sequence.

The cartoon are big silly fun, had a blast watching with the kids. Mostly pastiche of popular movies or fairy tales with the Mario characters and lots of Italian pastas references. Brought back memories for me and had them enjoy some Super Mario media outside the games. The toons are from 1989, back when only Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 2 NES games had been released, and it's interesting to see how the characters are depicted without some of their characteristics and quirks that we take for granted and have been introduced later on.
