Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1992 Zhang Zimou Chinese Comedy Drama THE STORY OF QIU JU (QIU JU DA GUAN SI), based on the novella "The Wan Family's Lawsuit" by Yuan Bin Chen and starring Gong Li, Peiqi Liu, Liuchun Yang, Kesheng Lei and Zhijun Ge.
In a small town in China, village elder Wang ends an argument with the peasant Qinglai by kicking him. Incensed, Qinglai's indomitable and heavily pregnant wife, Qiu Ju (Gong Li), demands an apology from the village chief. When she doesn't get one, Qiu Ju embarks doggedly on a quixotic search for justice, taking her case to higher and higher levels of government and encountering maddening levels of bureaucracy in the process.
