Original 9 1/8 inch x 6 7/8 inch Universum-Film Aktiennesellschaft Portrait of GUSTAVE FROHLICH in the 1936 Viktor Tourjansky German Drama STADT ANATOL, based on the novel "Die Stadt Anatol" by Bernhard Kellermann.

The film is set in a small city in the Balkans, where the discovery of oil leads to a major boom.

Gustav Fröhlich (1902 - 1987) was an actor and director. A former journalist and editor, he turned to stage and screen acting in the mid-1920s playing leads in scores of German films, notably Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”.

The portrait is in fine condition
