| TAKEN BY VF-154 WHILE DEPLOYED ON USS RANGER |
This is a black & white 8 x 10 photograph taken on 26 August 76 by VF-154 while escorting a TU-95 Bear E Russian bomber Number 84 during an overflight of the USS RANGER (CV-61). It was traditionaal for the Soviets to over fly US aircratf carriers when they deployed to Western Pacific (Both ways) and, of course, it was a matter of pride to detect and intercept the bomber well before it reached the ship.
