Seller's Description

Hank Hill, Stanley Alpine (Sonny Osborne) and the Sweet Mountain Boys - MASTERSEAL MS 95 - “Great Songs Of The Bluegrass With 5-String Banjo”. The record & jacket are in excellent condition. Originally recorded on the Gateway label in 1952-3, these recordings found their way onto several other labels, all hard to find, including this one. And to confuse matters even more, Sonny goes under the “Stanley Alpine” pseudonym. Gateway reissued these older recordings in a 3 LP series later on. One of the songs on this LP (I Cried Again) does not appear on the Gateway reissues so I am not sure where it fits in. Anyway, this is an already good banjo picker, Sonny, as a young teenager in an early bluegrass band.
