Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1935 Charles-Félix Tavano Drama SON EXCELLENCE ANTONIN starring André Berley, Raymond Corday, Josette Day, Sylvia Bataille, Jeanne Helbling, Thérèse Kolb and Germaine Reuver.
Antonin, a butler in a restaurant, wins the lottery. There, a few people, including the hotel owner, find ways to exploit his naivete. But Antonin makes him believe that he stole his ticket and thus finds out what everyone thinks of him. Finally, he recognizes his true friends, the little maid he loves, his fellow cooks and a baron.
Poster art by Roger Soubie (1898 - 1984). Born in Cambrai, Northern France, Soubie was a French designer of nearly 2,000 movie posters. He began by designing advertising posters for rail transport companies, car manufacturers and tourism. He also designed magazine covers.
The poster is in very good folded condition with slight wear.
