Original 1872 6 1/2 inch x 9 7/8 inch coloured print titled ALOPECURUS AGRESTIS. SLENDER FOX-TAIL-GRASS.
An annual grass forming tufts to 32 inches tall with narrow, rough-textured leaves up to 6 inches long and yellow-green spikelets to 5 inches long in summer. Generally considered as a weed in the UK.
Drawn by John Edward Sowerby (1825 - 1870). A British botanical illustrator and publisher born in Lambeth, London.
