• Comments: SKOOBs was a brilliant second hand (used) book shop om Scillian Avenue, London during the 1980’s and early 1990’s.  Most London University students would know it as a place to head for to obtain cheap or moderately priced text books, and many will have spent many tens of minutes looking through the shelves in the basement and feeling the occasional rumble from the nearby London Underground trains. This book told you where to find other used (second hand) bookshops in the UK. Admittedly as it was published in 1989 it is probably somewhat out of date, some of these bookshops may still be there. This might nevertheless be of interest to  historians looking into the retail trade. The front of the book has a glossary of terms used to describe books and tips and advice for customers and sellers of second hand books. All bookshops are listed by region and there is an index in the back to help you locate these.
