Simplicity 8251 sewing pattern "Great Expectations", "Easy to Sew". This 1987 vintage pattern is for MATERNITY EASY-TO-SEW SKIRTS IN TWO LENGTHS, PANTS AND VERY LOOSE-FITTING SHIRT IN MISSES' SIZES 8, 10, 12 and 14 (Eur. 36, 38, 40 & 42). The pattern for the skirt, and the shirt have been cut for size 10 (Eur. 38) and should work on size 8 (Eur. 36) also. The pants are uncut and will still make all 4 sizes. Please see the pattern inventory for details.

The pattern has a special feature: New Snap or Button adjustable waistband with room to grow.

The pattern also includes a "Working With Plaids" chart.

Simplicity 8251

MATERNITY EASY-TO-SEW SKIRTS IN TWO LENGTHS, PANTS AND VERY LOOSE-FITTING SHIRT IN MISSES' SIZES:
Shirt with front button closing has shirt-tail hem, extended shoulders and long sleeves with buttoned cuffs (wrong side of fabric shows when sleeves are rolled up). Tapered pants V. 1. circular skirt V. 2 and straight skirt V, 3 have elasticized, adjustable waistband fastened with snaps, VELCRO or buttons.

Fabrics:
Shirt in broadcloth, chambray, challis, oxford cloth. Pants and skirt in poplin, corduroy, gabardine, denim, linen, wool flannel. Extra fabric needed to match plaids, stripes crone-way design fabrics. Not suitable for obvious diagonals.

Notions:
Thread. Shirt V. 1, 2 and 3: Six 5/8" buttons. Pants V. 1 and Skirt V. 2: Seam tape or stretch lace. Pants V. 1 and Skirt V. 2 and 3: Six 1/2" buttons or decorative snap fasteners or VELCRO© fasteners, two pkgs. 1" wide elastic.
