Original British 17 inch x 11 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1955 Michael McCarthy Crime Drama SHADOW OF A MAN, based on a story by James Hadley Chase and starring Paul Carpenter, Rona Anderson, Jane Griffiths, Ronald Leigh-Hunt, Tony Quinn, Bill Nagy, Jack Taylor and Robert O'Neill.
After a fight, a drunk is found dead, but is the cause of death heart failure or murder?
The advert artwork is by A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.
The Advertisement is in very good condition with a vertical centre fold with 2 staple holes along it.
