Replacement nylon safety strap for children's bicycle trailers. Will fit the hitches of most brands of bicycle trailers. Fits Burley Classic hitches.
Once attached to the trailer frame, the free end of the strap is threaded through the bike frame and then connected to the clip on the trailer.
Replacement kit comes with strap with clip and replacement loop for the clip to attach to.
These should be replaced every few years as they get cut up and worn out from use. This strap prevents the trailer from separating from the bicycle if the rubber flex connector breaks. The rubber flex connector should be replaced every five years but most people forget to do this.
The strap is made from 1 inch nylon webbing and sewn with 69 nylon bonded black thread. It has two brass grommets. A heavy duty steel clip is attached to one end.
The strap is attached to the trailer by threading the bolts strap through the grommets and the original trailer tongue bolt holes. For Burley Classic hitches, first thread the strap through the hitch holes and then attach to the tongue. The original metal/nylon locking nuts must be replaced otherwise the bolts are at risk for shaking loose. These can be obtained at most hardware stores.
