Rare Walt Disney Yellow Pluto Dog 8.5" Ceramic Figurine w/ Sloppy Paint & Flaws

PLEASE READ CONDITION NOTES CAREFULLY; THIS FIGURINE HAS FLAWS!

This is a yellow ceramic figurine of Disney's Pluto the dog.  It stands about 8.5" tall and is approximately 4-3/8" across the widest part of the base.  The inside is hollow and as can be seen in the last photo above, the inscription "11/2000" has been handwritten inside the bottom of the mold.  On Pluto's left haunch you can just barely see the copyright symbol and "Walt Disney Prod" etched near the bottom.  (see white arrow in second to last photo above)

This figurine is mostly intact but has quite a few issues which should be mentioned.  The paint job around the face, nose and neck is quite sloppy as you can see in the photos.  There are lighter yellow splashes of paint between the eyes, around the collar and under the black nose. All these paint flaws seem to be under the glaze.  There are a few random darker dots and marks on the figurine that also seem to be under the glaze. The very bottom of the right ear is shallowly chipped (can barely be seen in first photo above).  If you hold the figurine under a bright light, overall crazing can be seen.      

I believe the "11/2000" inscription refers to the production run, not the year.  If that is true, the design of Pluto and the style of the Walt Disney mark make me think this is an older piece. I have never seen a figure quite like this before.  If you have any additional information, please contact me.

This rare figurine would make a terrific addition to a Disney collection!  Although certainly not perfect, it has a lot of character and great vintage quality.  Because of the flaws, this piece is sold "as is".  Please ask any questions before purchasing.
