RARE British Colonial Era Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force OR's Cap Badge

What you see is a Rare Obsolete Visor Cap Badge of the British Commonwealth Colonial Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force... Genuine Hong Kong Government Issue

This is the one issued to the other ranks... (The one to the officers are in Fully Gold Colour...)

The name change to Hong Kong Government Flying Services came about in 1997 when the sovereignty of Hong Kong was turned over from the UK to China... Obviously the RHKAAF title contains too much British colonial connotations to be considered politically correct in Hong Kong nowadays.

Renamed as the "Government Flying Service" after 1997...

I can attest that this badge is extremely difficult to come across.  This obviously is because the RHKAAF is such a small unit and there's no reason for them to mass produce a large amount of such badges for their Officers/Pilot.

Experienced collectors will attest that this is an extremely rare badge for a number of reasons:-

~ You can hardly find any badges worn by a British auxiliary air force unit.

~ The RHKAAF was disbanded in 1997s due to Hong Kong's Handover from the UK to China. After 1997 the RHKAAF was re-constituted as the Hong Kong Government Flying Service, who now wears a different cap badge.

~ The RHKAAF was the last British and Commonwealth auxiliary air force ever, and the disbandment of this unit marked the complete disappearance of such type of units in the world

This badge is not a restrike~~!!!!  100% rare and Superb Collectable Item... A Must for Collector.
