Seller's Description

NO REGARD FOR MONEY - CHARLES BENSON

260 pages hardback, good condition, some creasing to back of dust jacket only.

Published in 1988 by Quartet Books Ltd. Black and white photographs.

For many years "The Scout" on The Daily Express, CHARLES BENSON is a familiar figure to all of those interested in the Turf.  His passion for racing developed while he was still at Eton, and it was from a local telephone kiosk that he placed his first bets.
An enthusiastic and gifted tennnis player, Benson enjoyed many sporting successes in his youth.  After an eventful time at Eton and in the Army he began his career as a racing journalist. His easy acquaintance with the beau monde led to friendships with such widely different personalities as Lord Lucan, Dominick Elwes, Lady Charlotte Curzon, John Aspinall, Mark Birley, Henry Ford II, Frank Sinatra, Stavros Niarchos, The Aga Khan and Robert Sangster to name just a few. A thoroughly enjoyable read for the racing and betting man.
