IVC, which started in 1966 as a maker of low cost color TV equipment for the closed-circuit market, now has 20 percent of its business in broadcasting. At the NAB convention it introduced its new IVC-9000, a helical recorder using two-inch tape that is one third the cost of the quad recorders.
